But I'm too tired to workout

Do not be alarmed.  That loud thud you are about it hear is just my head hitting the keyboard. 

I am soooo tired today.  I had a long weekend and it's a nice rainy day so my body just wants to crawl under the covers and sleep all day.  Since I have to work that is a bit of a problem.  I could use my lunch hour and go sleep in my car. Or I could just finish my book during lunch while sitting in the big cozy chair at Starbucks.  But, I have to say NO.  I need to go walking at the mall at lunch.  I HAVE to.

And here is why:  I'm planning ahead.  I've said it before and I'll say it again. Planning ahead is ESSENTIAL to your journey. Too many things come up out of no where or your brain will try and talk you into procrastinating your workout. 

Looking ahead, I know that tomorrow I have something at lunch and then a church meeting after work.  Thursday I can walk at lunch, but then I have a happy hour and a cousin coming to visit after work.  Friday I am leaving at lunch and travelling out of town.  My hope is to workout after dinner on Friday, but that is no guarantee. 

So if I don't do anything today, and I don't do anything tomorrow, and I don't do anything on Friday that is 3 days this week that I will beat myself over the head on.  Your body does need rest, but I know that tomorrow I have plans all day so that will be my rest day.

Here's the even better part of pushing myself to walk today.  The adrenoline that kicks in will help get me through the rest of the day.  I will be more awake and better able to function.

I will not let that skinny devil on my shoulder win.  I will kick her little butt today :-)

  1. Go kick that devil's butt! I forced myself to do 90 minutes of kettlebells and I feel so much better!
