Biggest Loser - Episode 9
Alright Kids it's week 9 on the Biggest Loser Ranch.
It was a Big Big week. They are down to Singles! That's right, no more teams. It's every Man and Woman for themselves.
This week there was a Pentathalon challenge. There were 5 events and they were awarded points based on where they finished. After the fifth challenge the person who had the most points received Immunity and the person who came in last received a 1lb disadvantage :-(
The first event was for Rank. They were to rank the other contestants any way they wanted. The results for this one would not be revealed until the weigh in. Some ranked by loyalty, some by competition, and one by alphabetical order.
The second event was for Survival. Each player had a table with their name and three pegs on it. They also had tubes with their name on it. The object was to cross the field and place your tube on another contestant's peg. When all three pegs were covered you are eliminated.
The third event was Trivia. They were asked multiple choice questions on everything from nutrition to exercise. They received a point for every question they got right. No one got every question right, but one person did get all but one.
The fourth event was Balance. They had to sit on a floatation device and pull their way across the pool on the ropes hanging above them. This was my favorite. :-)
Next it was the last chance workout. The trainers were merciless :-)
And lastly, the fifth event was a mile sprint with Apolo Ohno (who just finished the NYC Marathon!). I will say right now that I was incredibly impressed with their times. I could not have beaten half of them. YOU GO BLs!
So the best part about making it to Singles is that now they are able to wear shirts during the weigh in. It's always a good week.
You may have heard that Anna K will not be back next season. There has been a lot of feedback on this. "She didn't connect with the Contestants" and "She doesn't know what it's like to lose that much weight". Well I will say this: I was very much against her being a trainer. I was wrong. They may have thought that she didn't connect, but they lost weight. Perhaps she doesn't have the background for losing weight and should focus more on basic training, but she did a good job. I will be sad to see her go.
****Please note****
If you feel like you are alone on your journey and you just need some encouragement I am here for you! Shoot me an email and I will do my best to check in on you or give you the words of support you need several times a week. The journey is so much easier if you have support.
