Fast Food: Convenient Crap
Happy Tuesday Bleeps,
Once again I have lots to talk about. There's a lot going on. This weekend was spent with family Celebrating the Life of my Uncle Joe. There were lots of tears both sad and happy. And there was lots of food. I actually have a couple posts planned for it. And then last night was Book Club. I was having a hard time finishing my book (pretty sure my mind was just preoccupied) so I was reading until an hour before we were to meet. And this weekend I am heading out of town Friday morning. So I'm quite busy at the moment.
But, not busy enough to go out for fast food. A few things have come up lately that I want to address. You know my rules on Fast Food:
1) If you can get it through a drive-thru then don't go!
2) If you have to go, eat it inside
3) No eating in the car
4) Plan ahead
I keep seeing these commercials for KFC for their new Go Cup. It is a convenient cup of chicken tenders and french fries that fits nicely into your cup holders in the car. NO! Sure they are convenient, but NO! No more fried foods! If you want food that bad, pull in to Boston Market and get some roasted chicken and green beans. If you are that hungry that you must eat right now you shouldn't be driving. Besides the fact, ewww think of the grease on your steering wheel, gear shift, and radio dials now. Ick.
There was recently a study that the average wait for drive-thrus are getting longer. By 14 seconds. They are citing the newer bigger more complex menus as a reason. The average wait is now 204 seconds. Fuel for your body should take a little longer than that to prepare.
On the sports talk radio show I listen to on the way home, one of the guys was complaining about Taco bell. He had to wait 22 minutes for a $3 order. He was very upset.
Okay first, it's taco bell. When you are spending $3 on your meal I wouldn't exactly be expecting much.
The Former Fat girl LOVED Taco Bell. LOVED it. OMG...$5 would get her so much food. And let's face it, you never order just one taco. First it would be 2. Then 3. Then 4. And then they combined with KFC and they had a mashed potato bowl. So she would get 3 tacos and a mashed potato bowl.
Now, just the thought of Taco Bell makes me want to vomit. It's garbage. You are eating garbage. There is NOTHING that is good for you. If you're going to have a taco, then go some place that makes a GOOD taco.
The Former Fat Girl lived for fast food. She would stop for a burger before going home and making her real dinner. The Former Fat Girl didn't get fat because she was eating healthy. She was eating crap. And she felt like crap.
I can count on one hand the number of times I have had fast food in the past 3 years. And I can count that same number as how many times I felt sick afterwards. I felt gross the rest of the day.
It's soooooo not worth it. If you can't make the time to feed yourself properly, then you really need to cut something out of your schedule.
Have a Blessed Night.
****Please note****
If you feel like you are alone on your journey and you just need some encouragement I am here for you! Shoot me an email and I will do my best to check in on you or give you the words of support you need several times a week. The journey is so much easier if you have support.
